This was taken by a friend of mine at Belur Math. We were more interested in knowing why the tree is so called when our teachers pointed this little fellow out to us.

ReplyDeleteRe: the tree: Is it also called "Nagkeshar" in Bengali? Can you ask Boaromama? I think there is another tree in or near Aurobindo Ashram in Ranikuthi. The name cannon ball tree is apt as the flowers literally burst open at times.
Aaagh! I hate them pesky garden lizards. We had about a million in our garden in Vizag and one invariably did his mating ritual when I passed by. Gross.

Jimmadidi- it's pretty clear in the second picture but I can't see the camouflage in the first pic.
ReplyDeletePhulididi- I remember those lizards in the Vizag garden too! I was startled by one of them really badly one day anD was over cautious of passing by a ceratin tree after that:)
No camouflage in first pic, just the tree, coz of the unusual name.
